English logotype established
To mark the 150th anniversary of our founding, we have established a new English logotype to take effect on April 1, 2024, in order to further accelerate our international activities.
We encourage all faculty, staff, and students of our university to make use of this service.
Establishment of the English logotype
Our university's President vision is to "Toward a world-leading research university that "Spin the Earth"," and our fourth mid-term goal is to "improve and internationalize our education and research activities." With the aim of becoming a research university that can rival the world's top classes, we are strategically defining fields in which we can increase our international presence and are working to improve our education and research environment so that we can attract excellent researchers and students from both Japan and abroad.
The abbreviation of our English name, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, "TUAT," has long been used in our educational and research activities and is widely recognized overseas as the name of our university. By establishing a new "TUAT" logotype, we aim to increase recognition of our university overseas.
Design
Design Concept
The letters "A" and "T" are lined with a wing motif, symbolizing agriculture and engineering working together to grow towards the future. The green lines, which evoke the image of wind and leaves (plants), represent the natural environment, while the blue lines, which evoke the image of information transmission, chemistry and waveforms, represent the flow of the engineering department. The green and blue colors, which evoke the images of nature such as mountains, forests, seas and skies, and the dynamic design, highlight our proactive approach to the SDGs and represent our university's basic philosophy of "Mission Oriented Research and Education giving Synergy in Endeavors toward a Sustainable Earth" (MORE SENSE).
The letter "TU" is 藍鉄色 (Aitetsu-iro) (deep blue-green color), which represents the fusion of agriculture and engineering.
